Dr. Thad Respet

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Respet has been a practicing veterinarian in the Grand Valley since 2010. He enjoys all aspects of small animal care but especially enjoys orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, arthroscopy, ultrasound, and minimally invasive medicine. While he is passionate about the science, one of the most fulfilling aspects of being a veterinarian for him is the relationship that he develops with his clients and patients. He prides himself on honest communication.

In his free time Dr. Respet enjoys spending time with his wife Shannon, kids Jack and Anna, and their dogs, cats, goats, and chickens. He stays busy biking, skiing, and tinkering around their property.

Dr. Lemmon most recently worked at a clinic in Tucson, AZ that specializes in internal medicine, and she has been certified in the Fear Free program.  She found that she really missed the Grand Valley area and has returned to work at Sky Canyon. Dr. Lemmon shares her home with two cats: Ricco Suave and Gracie, both rescues from Rifle. She has volunteered her services at free spay-neuter clinics in Baja, Mexico, and with Habitat for Humanity. In her free time, she can be found riding one of her motorcycles, camping, or doing home projects.

Our philosophy is that preventive care is the best investment
a pet owner can make.

Here are the top 3 reasons why we are such advocates of basic preventive care such as vaccinations, disease prevention, weight management and oral health.

Reason 1

Preventive veterinary care extends the lives of your pets by improving overall health.

Reason 2

Preventive Veterinary care catches health problems in the early stages to improve healing outcomes.

Reason 3

Preventive veterinary care also helps pet parents by catching medical problems in the early stages when it costs less to treat.
