Advanced Diagnostics

When pets can’t tell us where it hurts or what feels wrong, advanced diagnostic tools play a critical role in identifying illness and guiding treatment. Sky Canyon Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer state-of-the-art diagnostic services that are not available at many veterinary hospitals, allowing our medical team to provide accurate diagnoses and timely care.

Our advanced diagnostic capabilities include:

Cone Beam CT (Computed Tomography)
Provides highly detailed, three-dimensional images that allow for precise evaluation of bones, joints, teeth, nasal passages, and other structures—often aiding in faster and more accurate diagnoses.

Digital Radiography (X-rays)
Offers high-quality images with reduced radiation exposure to help evaluate bones, lungs, abdomen, and internal organs.

Intraoperative Radiography
Allows imaging during surgical procedures to confirm accurate placement or assess progress in real time.

Ultrasonography (Ultrasound)
A non-invasive diagnostic tool used to evaluate soft tissues and organs such as the liver, kidneys, bladder, and spleen.

Cardiology Diagnostics

Echocardiogram (Cardiac Ultrasound)
An echocardiogram is a non-invasive imaging study that uses high-frequency sound waves to assess your pet’s heart structure and function in real time. Your veterinarian may recommend an echocardiogram if abnormalities are seen on X-rays or if your pet shows signs of heart disease such as coughing, difficulty breathing, fainting, or a heart murmur.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram measures the electrical activity of the heart and helps detect abnormal heart rhythms. At Sky Canyon Veterinary Hospital, ECG monitoring is performed before and during every anesthetic procedure to ensure patient safety. ECGs may also be recommended anytime a cardiac abnormality is suspected.
